Ruth Catignas, DNP,APRN-BC

Ruth Catignas, APRN, MSN, is an adult nurse practitioner at AssociatesMD in Davie, Florida, bringing over 39 years of experience to the team. 

Ruth was born and raised in the Philippines, earning her Bachelor of Science in nursing. She was trained in diabetes and thyroid diseases by Dr. Augusto D. Litonjua, endocrinologist and president of the Philippine Diabetes Association. 

Ruth has been practicing as a primary care provider since 2007 and holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice and a master's degree in nursing from Florida International University in Miami. 

She maintains memberships in professional organizations such as the American Nurses Association and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. 

Outside the clinic, Ruth loves spending time with her three children, grandchildren, and her husband of 40 years. She enjoys singing, has been an active church choir member for 12+ years, and participates in numerous volunteer and charity work in her community.
